Welcome! This site is dedicated to the ongoing work of artist Phyllis Harris, a talented artist who has been creating unique paintings and designs for over 70 years!
In this time she has sold several hundred paintings.
Phyllis' approach to painting is quite distinctive and reflects her early years training as a graphic designer and lithographer. Her work can simply be described as semi-abstract. Phyllis will analyse her subject, segmenting the scene using bold lines, yet as with impressionist paintings it still remains clearly recognisable to anyone familiar with the location.

Some commentators say that her approach to painting bridges graphic design and painting.
Phyllis has a wide body of work, comprising mainly of still life and landscapes, and is most famous for pictures based on her travels across Europe dating back to the 1950s, focusing on the French region of the Dordogne in recent history. Her favoured medium is watercolour but she also works in pastels, chalk and pencil. She has exhibited her work for many years but only recently decided to make her collection available to a wider audience online.
Phyllis is a proud and honoured member of The Society of Women Artists, which was established in 1855, to give talented women artists an opportunity to exhibit their work. The Society continues to encourage variety and versatility, and has some of the finest contemporary women artists, from all over the world, sustaining a reputation for excellence. She has also been very active in her tow local societies: Wembley Art Society and Harrow Art Society.
